postpartum doula (AKA Your new favourite umbrella)

postpartum definition
Postpartum is often thought of as "Postpartum Depression", a mental health illness that affects people after the birth of a baby and has similar signs and symptoms as depression.

However, postpartum actually defines life after childbirth, specifically the first year about the birth of your baby. Postpartum doulas provide support within the first year and Lauren focuses on support in the fourth trimester, the first 3 months after birth,
doula services
Like a quirky umbrella, your doula (me!) will swoop into your home after the birth of your baby to take care of you, your baby, your partner, your dog, your in-laws, or whomever else may be present.
How do I do this?

Great question!
I provide you the opportunity for rest or an ear to listen to about your birth, current frustrations, worry's, lactation issues, and whatever else may be on your mind. Partners get time to themselves, rest, and personal education, not to mention the chance to debrief any feelings or questions. Pets get all my love after any opportunity to care for and snuggle your baby of course. Other family members benefit from rest and education, meal prep, and having household tasks accomplished that they maybe had their eyes on. I will fold that laundry, thank you very much, Grandma!

Doula support is an in-home service that is custom to the needs and dynamics of your family. Sessions are a mininum of 2 hours in length, or 3 if the commute is outside of the Kingston to Gananoque corridor.
